Wendy Beeson grew up in Knoxville, TN. She studied communication design at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was art director for Magnavox corporate headquarters in Knoxville. She and her husband sailed away from Knoxville in 1985 to cruise the Caribbean on their 34-foot sailboat for 12 years.
She and her husband discovered PALATKA on their 38-foot trawler in 1997. They bought property on Dunns Creek, and she joined the PALATKA Art League.
Wendy is now half owner of Gem City Cottage, a shop that sells local art, local authors’ books, and collectibles. She paints on commission working from photos. She paints in watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink and pencil. She has won many awards and has painted two murals in PALATKA. She paints with a talented brush to capture the realism of today.
